Who we are
Modern Websites is a trading style of Saueglobal Limited, registered in England & Wales with company number 14104858. Our registered office is 17 Barons Court Road, London, England, W14 9DP. Saueglobal Limited is the data controller for the information described here. Questions about this notice or your data go to hello@modernwebsites.design.
What we collect
- Free scan requests: what you want us to look at, your business name, email address, business type, website address and Instagram handle (if you give them), whether you're ready to fix issues within 30 days, what's hurting your website or brand, any package you clicked, and the page you sent it from.
- Enquiries (the "Start a project" form on the home page): your name, email address, subject and message, and the page you sent it from.
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address and, on the home page, your first and last name if you add them.
- Spam protection: to stop automated abuse of our forms, Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise (through Firebase App Check) assesses signals from your browser and device when you use the site.
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies on this site.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, review your website and brand and send you your scan, or arrange the call you asked for. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries.
- To send our newsletter, with your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To keep the site and its forms secure, under our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and spam.
Who processes it for us
Form submissions are stored in Google Cloud Firestore in London (europe-west2). The site is served by Google Firebase App Hosting. Google acts as our processor under its data processing terms. Where Google processes data outside the UK, for example for reCAPTCHA, it relies on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and equivalent safeguards. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and scan requests that don't become a project: one year from your last contact.
- Client records: for the life of our agreement plus six years.
- Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, and ask us to correct, delete or restrict it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@modernwebsites.design and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We'll update this page if how we use your data changes. See also our terms.
